About Temper Studio

Temper Studio designs and makes idiosyncratic, contemporary furniture, household objects and the occasional structure from a small workshop in rural Wiltshire. Our aim is to design without dogma and to learn from the materials through incessant experimentation – ultimately, to produce pieces that are both quietly beautiful and intellectually fascinating.

The Team

Kat Prendergast – General Manager

Kat studies Fine Art with George and went on to teach as well as manage an art academy. She joined Temper in 2019 to project manage our first building commission and came on board as General Manager in 2022.

George Winks – Creative Director

George taught himself fine woodworking after studying fine art and started taking on furniture commissions before founding Temper Studio in 2013. He is lead designer on all projects.

Jonny Peel – Production Manager

Jonny assisted George on several early projects and has continued to develop his skill in furniture making, timber construction and team management. Jonny handles the majority of site work all around the UK. He took on the role of Production Manager in 2022
