Choppy Waters Serving Board
Designed in collaboration with shopkeepers Seamus and Katherine of Midgley Green, the Choppy Waters serving board was conceived as a functional object with a whole lot of sculptural interest. A tactile thing inspired very much by descriptions of the wild and dark ocean from a friend who was circumnavigating the world in a sailing race at the time. The surface of the timber is carved away into these wave forms and then stained black and hand rubbed back again to reveal the drama of peaks and troughs and wood grain. The story of the making of these boards was featured in the March 2017 issue of Country Living Magazine
Available in Oak and Sycamore sustainably grown in the UK and hand finished with natural oils. Includes leather hanging cord.

The PLANE Collection sits with the quietness of more rustic pieces but retains an edge of contemporary minimalism as the light plays and breaks over the many precise faces of polished hardwood and solid brass supports.

PLANE + Choppy Side Table
The PLANE + Choppy Side Table is a meeting of two of our favourite things; the precise yet irregular geometric shaping of timber and our Choppy Waters finish, developed in collaboration with Midgley Green for the Choppy Waters serving boards. The black-dyed and rubbed back sculptural surface was inspired by descriptions from a friend as she raced a clipper across the the wild, dark pacific ocean. The construction is a restrained, clean design in stunningly pale English Sycamore with solid brass support.
